EVENT Description

WOSC provides a common platform for stake-holders of ocean sector, tourism sector, navy and defense sector, industries, researchers and academicians, legal and geopolitical experts, ocean administrators, maritime historians and archaeologists etc., to interact, exchange ideas and appreciate the conflicting demands of each sector. The first World Ocean Science Congress held at Kochi, Kerala in February 2015 was a mega-event with participation of more than 1500 delegates and high profile panel discussions on the shipping and fishery sectors. Several of the recommendations from these Panel discussions have been adopted by the shipping industry and the fishery sector (e.g., ban on juvenile fishing adopted by several maritime states).
